DBIS - Databases and Information Systems Group
We deal with the processing of large amounts of data—recently also referred to as "big data". In our research work, we build, analyze and evaluate database systems, especially from the point of view of modern hardware architectures. At the department, we train students to understand, use and optimize database systems-important skills in a data-oriented knowledge society.
Jens Teubner has held the DBIS chair since April 2013. Prior to this, Joachim Biskup headed Chair VI of the department for many years, with a research focus on "Security in Information Systems".
Are you looking for a doctoral position? We are regularly looking for bright minds! Until then, we will also be happy to support you with your Bachelor's or Master's thesis.
