04.11.2017 – Our paper "Pipelined Query Processing in Coprocessor Environments" was accepted for presentation/publication at ACM SIGMOD 2018. SIGMOD takes place in June 2018 in Houston, TX, USA.


Best Student Paper Award for Stefan Noll


10.03.2017 – Within the Student Program of the BTW 2017 conference in Stuttgart, Germany, Stefan Noll received the Best Paper Award. His contribution "Energy Efficiency in Main Memory Databases" reports on the key results of his Master Thesis. The Master Thesis was prepared within the DBIS Group and in the context of the CRC 876 (Project A2).

10.03.2017 – At BTW 2017 in Stuttgart, Sebastian Dorok received the Best Paper Award for his Paper "Efficient Storage and Analysis of Genome Data in Databases". The work was done in a collaboration between U Magdeburg, Bayer AG, TU Berlin, and the DBIS Group at TU Dortmund University.


Marcel Preuß defends his PhD thesis "Inference-Proof Materialized Views"


24.08.2016 – The ever-growing availability of data raises increasing expectations toward privacy and secrecy of the stored information. The PhD thesis of Marcel Preuß "Inference-Proof Materialized Views" tackles the involved challenges. In the thesis, Marcel Preuß discusses techniques to maintain secrecy in a provable manner, while still allowing users to access data.
Marcel Preuß defended his thesis on August 24, 2016. We congratulate him to this success and we are proud to have another graduated member in our team.
